Greater Rockford Auto Auction was founded in Rockford, IL by D.M. ‘Swede" Clark in 1974. GRAA opened at 6316 Beltline Road, south of the Greater Rockford Airport. That original building had two sale lanes. Due to steady growth, the building was expanded twice and then rebuilt with four sale lanes.
In 1995 the Greater Rockford Airport needed the auction’s land for expansion, so GRAA moved to its current location at 5937 Sandy Hollow Road.
Over the last several years, GRAA has excelled to be one of the largest independent auto auctions in the United States, running 1,000 cars a week.
We feature dealer consignment and fleet/lease accounts such as Chrysler Financial, Remarketing by GE,

Wells Fargo Dealer Services and many others. Sale day is Wednesday, with a monthly salvage and impound sale the second Friday of each month

Swede Clark has been in the retail and wholesale automobile business for 55 years. And in those years his dealerships and Greater Rockford Auto Auction have sold over one million vehicles. Swede continues as president of GRAA and foresees great growth ahead.
